Will Clews and RunnersGoals helped me realize my bucket list running goal: qualifying for the Boston Marathon. He saw my potential and guided me to speed and race times I would have thought were beyond my ability. In 17 weeks of training with Will, he helped me shave nearly 22 minutes off my previous best marathon time.

Will is an incredibly knowledgeable, passionate and caring coach who absolutely went above and beyond. He provided hours of personalized attention and coaching advice, including customized training plans and a goal-oriented approach that was tailored to my individual needs and that factored in hectic my lifestyle, including my family and work commitments. Will’s commitment to my needs in order to help me achieve my running goals was unparalleled.

Beyond his sage advice and support, another incredible value of training with Will is the team environment he fosters. From day one, I was warmly welcomed into his RunnersGoals family. The camaraderie and team environment Will nurtures among his athletes was a welcoming source of encouragement, motivation and celebration. A definite bonus energy generator during the tougher or longer training sessions!

I joined Runner's Goals when training for the Toronto Marathon, my second full marathon after 3 years. I had completed many half marathons, but had never had formal training. I wanted to build both my physical and mental strength to get through the race with confidence, and to train without injury. Will provided me with a training program that enabled me to do that. I learned to train smart instead of pushing myself to my limit on each run, which allowed me to increase my speed and stamina without injuring myself. His training program and moral support allowed me to get through my marathon confidently and 42 minutes faster than my first marathon. I also qualified for the Boston Marathon, which I had thought was well beyond my capabilities. I could not have done this without the support of Will and the rest of the team. Will works with each runner to work towards their own personal goals and creates a training program that suits their needs, goals and lifestyle. The team has runners of many different ages and levels, but we work together and support each other to pursue our different goals. Runner's Goals has provided me with quality training, and a team of running partners and friends. We work together and motivate each other to get through the tough runs and races. My training with Will and the Runner's Goals team has helped me realize my potential and push myself to reach my goals as a runner. I'm lucky to have such a great team to train with!

I had been running with a small fast group of runners in downtown Toronto (BLT). After I relocated to Mississauga. I took a 2 year break from running. It was during December 2015 I started my search for a coach & running group with whom I could get back to fast running & eventually crush some PB’s.

Working with Will Clews helped me in many areas of my life. Not only the running aspect. But preparing me physically, mentally. He created an easy-to-follow workout schedule that matched my needs and skills and he was fast to help me modify it as external issues arose. .

Will Clews responded to my questions and concerns with his own careful thought and expertise. I grew to trust him quickly and I have had a very smooth past season. .

It took me jus 2yrs of hard work to come within 3min of my marathon PB of 2h48:48 set 5yrs prior. Finishing 8th Overall in 2h51:38 at the Hamilton Marathon on 5th Nov 2017. In Sept 2017 I set a new 10k PB of 36:50 Something I thought was not going to be possible. Is now achievable & believable. I am very Optimistic about the coming year. As I feel I am getting stronger & faster each season. .

I have had the pleasure of working with William Clews from Runners Goals, for the past year. He is a dedicated, knowledgeable and passionate running coach. Will works with my difficult work schedule to create a plan tailored to my specific running needs and goals. He constantly pushes me towards those goals making me a better runner. I’ve improved my marathon race time by 8 mins since working with Runners Goals. Will organizes team runs together twice a week and each Sunday morning. The team runs help keep us motivated, interested and keeps us close as teammates. Will takes genuine pride in his team. The encouragement and support from the entire team is amazing. I am grateful to have found Will and Runners Goals and I look forward to continued PB success. .

Being a working mother of 3 means my schedule is dictated by children, and this group gives me the flexibility I need so I can focus on all the things I love.

Although the training is hard, it’s not gruelling and my running posture, pace and timing have all improved since joining. There is a real sense of encouragement and belonging in this group. Coach Clews ensures a healthy and positive running environment for all the runners.

I’ve often teased Will suggesting he should change his club name to something snazzier than “RunnersGoals”, Will would never change the name because his proposal is imbedded within it. Will’s mission is to help you meet your goals. His commitment is to work with you regardless of your level to get you to be the best runner that you want to be. He’s a talented coach that is driven, caring, conscientious, and who puts in the immense effort required to sustain a personal relationship with each individual member of the team. You know that he’s in your corner, emotions on his sleeve working for you..

After 1.5 years with RunnersGoals, I was able to accomplish a personal best of 3.04.34 in a recent Marathon. I look forward to beating this time in the upcoming Chicago Marathon.

I have been training with Will Clews, Runners Goals since 2017. I was looking for a running club that shared my passion for running Marathons, and a good running buddy of mine recommended Will. Since joining Runners Goals, I have achieved 3 PB’s. I had only been training with Will and his team for under a year when I ran The Road to Hope Marathon. In that race my goal was to qualify for the Boston Marathon. I had run 6 marathons previous to this one and all of them were painful, except this one. From start to finish I felt strong, and knew that it had to be from Will’s personal coaching. I not only qualified with a time of 3:50, but I was 15 minutes faster than my Boston qualifying time!

If it wasn’t for Will and his team I would never have imagined that I was capable of achieving these goals! Thank you for all your dedication and commitment over the past 2 years!

In late July, 2017, I met an extraordinary distance running coach, Coach Will, which truly changed how I train and run in countless ways. At that time, I had already finished four marathons including the 2016 Boston Marathon. I did not believe that I could improve my running and I was not as passionate about this sport as I once was. Over the past two and a half years, I have been training with Coach Will and I have achieved a personal best in each of the distance I raced. Here are my current PBs: 5k (20:49), 10k (43:13) and half marathon (1:31:03), and Marathon (3:14). Although we have over 40 members on the team, Coach Will always makes me feel that he was my own coach; the personalized plans, the structured training, the amazing choices of running routes and most importantly, the spirit of Coach Will and the team, give me a renewed interest in running. Coach Will makes running great again (for me)!

I have been running for the last 6 years on my own till I met Will in June 2018. The primary reason for me to pick up running was to reduce my weight and maintain a healthy life style. After my move to Canada in August 2015 my running volume reduced due to the fact that I was afraid to run during cold winters and most of runs were limited to treadmill. My fitness and running schedule was at its lowest point when I sustained a knee injury due to soccer. In May 2017 in order to understand my fitness I registered for a half marathon. The results were not as expected, I struggled to complete the 21.1 kms in 2 hours and 30 minutes. It was in June 2018, I enrolled with William Clews and from that point onward my running has gone through a significant improvement. I ran my first half marathon with Will in November 2018 where I achieved my personal best timing, improving my timing by 15 mins. I completed my first world major in Chicago(2019) where I improved my marathon timing by 65 minutes.

The best part of training with "Will" is his personalized structured training plans. He spends a tremendous amount of time on every individual closely tracking his strengths, limitation and creating a plan that would keep injury free. One of the major success factor for me is the "Team work" factor that Will brings in during the training session on Tuesday's , Thursday's and Sunday's where you learn and improve as you train with other likeminded runners.

September of 2019 marked an important anniversary for me in running. I celebrated a decade as a marathon runner. What was initially a bucket list item, has become a passion for me. I just completed my 21st marathon, my 18th with Will as my coach. Part of my incredible journey has been attributed to his coaching and mentorship. I would have never imagined I would have been running the Boston Marathon, let alone 5 of the 6 World majors. Will's hands on approach and customized programs make him exceptional in the field. Will has been instrumental in my success and I look forward to many more races and marathons under his direction.
